Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own healthcare centers or within habilitation, and we provide advice over the phone via 1177. Education, research, and development are important to us, as we adapt our offerings based on the needs of the residents. We already offer mobile teams, video consultations, and smart e-services.

District Doctor/Geriatrician for Short-term Care, Svartbäcksgården

Welcome to apply for the position of district doctor or geriatrician with duties at the short-term care facility, Svartbäcksgården via Svartbäckens Healthcare Center. We are looking for employees to join an existing team where an additional 100% position is possible. The position can preferably be a shared role if there is other employment alongside. Start date by agreement.

Your Mission

We are looking for someone who wishes to work in a close team together with municipal healthcare, focusing on connecting the care stay before further discharge home or relocation to another residence occurs. You enjoy working both independently and in a team where you plan your day. You are driven to develop collaborations between different levels of care. With us, you will work at the short-term care facility - Svartbäcksgården - which has two departments with a total of 58 places, where you, together with your two experienced colleagues, share several care teams. The short-term care facility is adjacent to Svartbäckens Healthcare Center, where you are also part of the regular medical team. This provides a great collegial variation where many years of experience can contribute to further development and exchange of experiences, especially during internal training and joint medical meetings. It also includes supervision of medical students and residents as well as some on-call duty. Depending on experience and background, work at the healthcare center may also be relevant.

Your Competence

For this position, we are looking for someone with specialist competence in general medicine or geriatrics, with Swedish authorization and a good ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. You enjoy working in a team with other professionals close to the patient and have both experience and a natural interest in person-centered care.

For this assignment, it is also important that you have documented good knowledge of the target group's risk factors from the perspectives of prevention, treatment, and follow-up. You have a strong drive that is visible in your willingness to contribute to the development of the organization. Furthermore, you should also possess good communication skills and, of course, have a good attitude towards both patients and colleagues.

Our Operations

Svartbäckens Healthcare Center belongs to the department of Close Care and Health in Region Uppsala and is one of the county's largest healthcare centers with just over 19,000 registered patients. We are centrally located in Uppsala and have 80 employees, where all professional roles within the healthcare center's mission are represented. Our patients are both young and old who live in the area or in the surrounding countryside. This makes our work both varied and developing. The operations also include branches in Bälinge and Björklinge.
